Sound familiar?

Typical jobs for a business of 3 to 50 people, where the work currently lives in spreadsheets, WhatsApp, paper, or someone’s head.

Spreadsheets, an inbox and a lot of phone calls

You run the business from several spreadsheets, a shared inbox and a lot of phone calls.

A process with a twist

Recurring visits, mixed contract types, site-by-site rotas, special order rules: off-the-shelf software handles these badly.

Paying per user, for ever

You would rather pay once than per user per month for ever.

What we build

Practical software for the work you actually do, set up around your team.

Booking hubs

Online booking for appointments, classes, tables, tours or site visits, with the diary your team already works from, reminders and a clear daily list.

Ordering hubs

Order forms and online ordering for shops, producers and caterers: current menus and price lists, pickup and delivery slots, and one screen for the orders you need to fulfil.

Internal tools

Jobs, rotas, quotes, time sheets, stock and checklists in one place, with a phone view for people out on the job.

Automations

The repeated admin: quote chasers, confirmations, invoices raised from completed jobs, reports that arrive without being asked for.

Dashboards

One page that answers “how are we doing this week?” from the numbers you already keep, instead of a monthly spreadsheet exercise.

Joining things up

Connecting the tools you already pay for (accounts, email, payments, your website) so nobody types the same thing twice.

How it works

  1. A free 15-minute call, or a coffee

You tell us how the work flows today and what is slow or error-prone. No cost, no pitch deck. If a ready-made tool would do the job, we will say so.

  2. A written fixed quote

If a build makes sense, we write it up: what we will build, what it costs, and a one-page Scope and Success Criteria Schedule so you know exactly what “done” means. The quote is free and yours to keep, whether or not you go ahead.

  3. Fixed-price build

We build to the quote and show you working software every week. The price is fixed for the scope in a one-page written Schedule that we agree before work starts. The code and hosting are set up in your own accounts from day one, and when you have paid in full we assign you the rights we own in what we built.

  4. Optional care plan

After launch, Care is £29 a month: monitoring, backups checked, security updates and fixes. Care+ is £79 a month and adds up to 2 hours of changes a month and a quarterly review. Optional; you can cancel with 30 days’ notice.

What it costs

Fixed quotes, confirmed in writing before you commit. No per-user fees. A 15-minute call is free. Hosting and third-party charges (for example email sending) are paid by you or passed on at cost, and the quote lists them up front.

Fix One Thing
7 to 10 days
£249

One narrow job: an enquiry or order form that logs and replies, a reminder or report automation, a dashboard from numbers you already keep.

If it is not live within 10 working days, we refund you (conditions apply).

Single-job tool
2 to 3 weeks
from £749

One job done properly: a quote calculator, a booking form with a diary, an order system, a job board with a phone view.

Success criteria agreed in writing first; if one is not met in the 30 days after go-live, we fix it or refund you (conditions apply).

Business hub
4 to 6 weeks
from £1,490subject to written terms

Several connected parts: jobs, rota, quotes, bookings or orders, customer records, a phone view for staff.

Paid in stages against milestones, with 90 days of free fixes after go-live.

First conversation
Free

A 15-minute call or a coffee, then a written fixed quote with a Scope and Success Criteria Schedule. No charge, no obligation.

Care
£29 a month

Optional after launch: monitoring, backups checked, security updates and fixes. You can cancel with 30 days’ notice.

Care+
£79 a month

Care, plus up to 2 hours of changes a month, a quarterly review and priority in our queue (not a guaranteed response time).

Conditions apply to every refund or fix promise on this page. The clock pauses while we are waiting for something from you, and you have to claim within set windows. The conditions are in our written order terms (Scots law, for business customers only), which come with every quote; ask for a copy at any time. If anything on this page differs from the terms, the terms win. Fix One Thing is paid half to book and half when it is ready; larger projects are paid in stages set out in the quote. We are not VAT registered, so the prices above are what you pay.

If an accountant or bookkeeper introduced you, we may pay them 10% of the build price after you have paid in full. You do not pay it, your price is the same, and the quote names the introducer and the fee before you accept.

One hub replacing three spreadsheets

The business

A Dundee landscaping and garden-maintenance company of about seven staff.

The problem

Jobs, the staff rota and the quote calculator each lived in a separate spreadsheet. The office had to cross-check all three to know who was going where, and crews had no simple way to see their day.

What we built

One web app for the office and for crews on their phones: customers, jobs, recurring maintenance visits, a rota, quotes, time recording and invoicing through QuickBooks. It is live in production.

Results

The owner’s working week is far easier: assigning and keeping track of work is a breeze, invoices go out from the same place through QuickBooks, and each customer’s history sits in one place instead of across spreadsheets. We are not publishing time-saved figures.

The business keeps its own data. Screenshots and the system’s address are not shown.

Is it for you?

Usually a good fit

  • You run the business from several spreadsheets, a shared inbox and a lot of phone calls.
  • Your process has a twist that off-the-shelf software handles badly: recurring visits, mixed contract types, site-by-site rotas, special order rules.
  • You would rather pay once than per user per month for ever.

Usually not

  • If a standard booking or job app (Fresha, Square, ServiceM8, Tradify, Connecteam and similar) already does what you need, use it. It will be cheaper and we will tell you so on the call.
  • If you need insurance we do not hold, such as public liability or a higher professional indemnity limit. Tell us in writing before you accept a quote. If we cannot get it on reasonable terms, you can withdraw before work starts and we refund anything you have paid.

Questions people ask first

What does it cost?

Three sizes, all fixed price for the scope written in the quote: Fix One Thing, one narrow job, at £249; a single-job tool from £749; and a connected business hub from £1,490, subject to written terms. Before any of those, the first conversation is free: a 15-minute call, or a coffee if you are in Tayside or Fife. If a build makes sense, you then get a written fixed quote with a Scope and Success Criteria Schedule, at no charge. There are no per-user fees. Hosting and third-party charges (email sending, payments, a domain) are paid by you or passed on at cost, and the quote lists them. We are not VAT registered, so the figure you see is the figure you pay. Conditions apply to every refund or fix promise: the clock pauses while we wait for you, and you must claim within set windows. They are set out in our written order terms, which come with every quote and which win over this page; ask us for a copy at any time.

Who owns the software, the code and the hosting?

The code repository, the hosting account and the domain are set up in your own accounts from day one, with us added as a user, so nothing sits on our side that you cannot see or reach, and we never lock you out over a dispute. When you have paid in full, and any refund window has ended, we assign you the rights we own in the custom code we wrote for you (clause 8 of our written order terms), with a signed assignation sent to you afterwards. We keep our own reusable components and licence them to you, and open-source parts keep their own licences. We build with AI coding assistants, and we do not promise that copyright exists in code an AI wrote. The terms set this out.

What if you disappear, or stop answering?

We are one person, so we plan for that instead of promising it will not happen. Because the repository, hosting and domain are in your accounts, any competent developer can take over without asking us. Every build comes with a plain-English handover document (what it does, where it lives, how to restore it) kept in your repository, and a Business hub also gets a recorded walkthrough. We use mainstream, widely known tools rather than anything exotic. If Liam cannot continue, the written terms say you get everything in your accounts and a refund for work not yet delivered. We do not yet have a named backup developer. The optional care plan keeps backup checks and monitoring running, and you can end it with 30 days' notice.

What about data protection and privacy?

Your customer data stays in your own accounts. Where we handle personal data for you (for example on a care plan), you are the controller and we are your processor, under a written data-processing addendum. We build with AI coding assistants. We aim to build and test with made-up data and to keep your customers' and patients' records, passwords and secrets away from them, but we cannot promise that nothing personal is ever included, because the content you give us can contain names and contact details. If we find personal data has reached an AI tool, we tell you. If a fault can only be diagnosed with real data, we ask you in writing first. Only the people you choose can see your data, and we ask for the minimum access we need to do the work.

Do you have professional indemnity insurance?

Yes. TurboKast Ltd holds professional indemnity insurance with Hiscox, covering claims by clients about our work (mistakes, and use of AI in the work, included). The limit and the policy terms are given with every quote. It does not cover everything. We do not hold public liability insurance or a separate cyber policy, so our own costs of responding to a data breach are not insured, and the policy does not pay regulatory fines or claims made directly by your customers or patients. If you need a higher limit, other cover, or to be named on our policy, tell us in writing before you accept a quote. If we cannot arrange it on reasonable terms, you can withdraw before work starts and we refund anything you have paid.

Is a ready-made app better for me?

Sometimes. If a standard booking or job app (Fresha, Square, ServiceM8, Tradify, Connecteam and similar) already does what you need, If it does what you need, use it: it will cost less and we will say so on the call. We are worth a call when your process has a twist that those tools handle badly, or when you would rather pay once than per user per month for ever.

Who you would be dealing with

TurboKast Studio is run by Liam Humphreys, in Dundee. We build with AI coding assistants, directed by Liam and checked by automated tests on every change, which is how we can quote fixed prices below typical agency rates. You deal with one person, not an account manager, and the terms say what happens if Liam cannot continue (we do not yet have a named backup developer).
